Madison & Southern Wisconsin

Professional Cockroaches Control

Cockroaches are one of the most stubborn pests in Wisconsin homes and apartments — and DIY traps and glue strips rarely dent an established population. Roaches breed fast, hide deep in walls and appliances, and have grown resistant to many over-the-counter sprays.

Strib Pest Control's technicians identify the species, find the harborage points and eliminate the infestation with professional baits and growth regulators — safely, and without turning your kitchen into a chemical zone.

How to Identify Cockroaches

Four species cause nearly all cockroach problems in southern Wisconsin:

Telltale signs: droppings that resemble coffee grounds or black pepper, oblong brown egg casings behind furniture and in cracks, and a musty, oily odor in heavier infestations.

Why Cockroaches Are a Problem

Cockroaches are a genuine health hazard, not just a gross-out. They pick up bacteria — salmonella, E. coli and more — in drains and garbage, then track it across counters, dishes and food. Their droppings and shed skins are a leading trigger of asthma and allergy symptoms, especially in children. And in any food business, a single sighting in front of a customer can do lasting reputation damage.

FAQ

Cockroaches Questions, Answered

I saw one cockroach — do I have an infestation?

One roach spotted at night could be a straggler, but a roach seen during the day often means crowding in the harborage — a sign of a substantial population. Either way, an inspection with monitors will tell you definitively before you spend money on treatment.

Why didn't foggers get rid of my roaches?

Foggers coat exposed surfaces, but roaches live deep in cracks, wall voids and appliance motors where fog never reaches. They also scatter populations into new areas and can make roaches bait-averse, making professional treatment harder. Gel baits and growth regulators are far more effective.

How long does it take to eliminate cockroaches?

Most German cockroach infestations collapse within 2–4 weeks of a professional baiting program, with a follow-up visit to catch newly hatched nymphs. Heavy or multi-unit infestations can take longer and may need coordinated treatment across units.
